Today I spent quite sometime trying to figure out why my old code was still running. I know it is because of the SharePoint Timer service (called SPTimerV4 in 2013) but since it worked last night when I made changes, I didn’t try to restart it. Finally I found this article and I decided to restart it and it fixed the issue.
